When anyone asked 10-years-ago me how she really felt, she panicked. She genuinely had no idea. Whenever she did start to feel something, her brain would immediately explain in great detail why she definitely, absolutely, couldn’t be feeling that.
Eventually I realised I couldn't sustain living so cut off from my feelings. I became an emotions detective and tried out every feelings tool I came across. 70+ books and 15+ modalities later I realised "I'm getting good at this", and certified as a coach to help others on the same journey.
The final piece of the puzzle was being diagnosed autistic in my 40s. That's when I realised that not all feelings are emotions.
